A man (Casey Affleck) moves away from his home town and works as a janitor after a tragic accident. But when his brother dies, he returns to sort out the man's affairs and care for his teenage son. SEX/NUDITY 6 - A teen boy and a teen girl lie in bed kissing and the boy puts his hand in the girl's pants but gets stuck and can't get his hand out; the girl yells at him and they both remove their pants (we see the girl wearing panties and the boy wears boxers and sex is interrupted by the girl's mother). A teen boy tries to put on a condom (we see him wearing boxers while holding the condom but do not see genitals) and a teen girl gives him a hard time about how many he has gone through; when he is successful, she climbs on top of him and they are interrupted by her mother (they scramble to get dressed). A teen girl rubs a teen boy's shoulders. A teen boy and a teen girl lie in bed (he is bare-chested and we see her bare thigh); she rests her head on his chest and he smiles (sex is implied).
 A husband and his wife kiss in bed and she pushes him away saying that she is sick. A husband undresses to his boxers (we see his bare chest, abdomen and back) and climbs on top of his wife in bed and they kiss (no sex occurs); she pushes him away and he leaves the room.
 A teen boy asks a man if he can have his girlfriend sleep over and the man says, "Am I supposed to tell you to use a condom?" A woman says on the phone, "I'm in love with my janitor." A man asks a teenage boy, "Do you have sex with these girls?" and the boy replies that he is working on it (he has two girlfriends). A teen girl asks a teen boy if he wants to have sex with her and he replies, "Yes."
 A partially nude woman lies on a sofa (presumably drunk) and we see her bare abdomen; her young son walks through the room and sees her. A woman wears a robe that is open to reveal cleavage while talking to a man about repairing plumbing. A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage in a bar scene. A woman wears a low-cut top that reveals cleavage in a few scenes. A teen girl wears a tank top that reveals cleavage. A teen girl wears a top that falls off the shoulder and we see her bra strap and shoulder. A teen girl is shown wearing a bra and panties (her cleavage and abdomen are seen).

VIOLENCE/GORE 5 - A house is shown engulfed in flames and a woman screams that her children are still inside as firefighters hold her back; we later see body bags being taken away from the rubble and understand that the children died in the fire.
 A man takes a police officer's gun and tries to shoot himself in the head twice (the gun does not discharge) before being wrestled to the ground by officers. A man confronts two men in a bar, and then punches them both in the face and we see one man with a very bloody nose. A man punches another man in the face in a bar and several other men swarm him (we see the attacker with a bloody nose and face). A man punches a window breaking it and we see his very bloody hand (we later see it wrapped in a bandage with blood soaking through). Teenage boys play hockey and one shoves another against the boards and they fall to the ice wrestling before being pulled apart by a coach and another man (no injuries are seen). A teen boy has a panic attack when a frozen mat falls out of a freezer and he imagines his father's body being in a freezer. A man imagines two young girls telling him that they are burning when he burns a sauce on the stove.
 A wife yells at her husband and his friends for making too much noise. A woman yells at a man and tells him to get out of her apartment. A wife and her husband argue in a hospital room over his condition and the prognosis. A man and a teen boy argue in many scenes. Two men argue on a street and one threatens to hit the other before a teen boy separates them. A man arrives at a hospital and asks, "Is he dead?" and the answer is "Yes." Three teen boys and a teen girl argue while practicing music. A woman talks about being bored to death and then says, "I could slit my throat." A man gets a phone call telling him that his brother is in the hospital. A doctor describes what the effects of congestive heart failure. A man tells a teenage boy that his father died (we do not hear the conversation). A man describes the events of a night when his house burned down and his children died in the fire. A teen boy asks a man, "Are you brain damaged?" A man and a teen boy talk about not being able to bury a man because the ground is too hard and that they will have to keep him in a freezer until Spring. A man tells a teen boy that his girlfriend cannot come over because he doesn't like her. A man looks in a gun case where several rifles are stored and a teen boy asks, "Who you gonna shoot, you or me?" A man talks about his father disappearing on a tuna boat.
 A couple of church and cemetery scenes are seen where mourners gather for a funeral service. A teen boy's cell phone buzzes during a funeral service and he scrambles to get it out of his pocket.
 A dead body is pulled out on a drawer and a body bag is unzipped before a man looks at it and we see the body's face is tinged blue. A man is shown with bloody gashes on his face and head as a woman cleans up his wounds after a bar fight. A teenage boy goes to a morgue to view his father's body and we see the body on a drawer briefly. A man plunges a toilet and the tenant of the apartment says, "This is so gross" (we do not see anything but hear the suction sound of the plunger in the bowl). A woman spills a beer on a man in a bar.
