During WWI the three sons of an Australian farmer (Russell Crowe) are presumed dead in the Battle of Gallipoli. Unable to deal with grief, his wife (Jacqueline McKenzie) kills herself and he becomes determined to find their bodies and bring them back to bury them with their mother.
